Empire BCBS to Phase Out Some Small Group Plans by 2013

Last Updated: July 27, 2012

Empire BCBS has decided to phase out certain small group health plans this year instead of discontinuing them mid-year.  Seven small group plans originally scheduled for discontinuation on April 1, 2012, will now be phased out upon renewal by April 1, 2013.  This means that enrollees in these plans will now have the current enrollment year to either move to another Empire BCBS plan or look for coverage with another insurer.
